Well, we got some great news today. We will now be playing on the support stage (known as the SQA Stage) at 12:30pm on Saturday 10th June – so don’t go looking for us in the beer tent any more.
We are really excited as we get to play through the main sound system to the whole field with video coverage on the big screen too.
If you would like to get a taste for what’s to come, then head on down to the globe the night before – we will be there warming up a few tunes.
I’m sure many of you were aware that Alresford hosted its annual Watercress Festival on 21st June and like last year, the AUJ had the privilege of closing the show.
Our 1 hour set went down a storm with our biggest crowd ever. We think that some of our new material is going down well and the feedback and comments we are getting are very flattering. Thank you to you all, you know who you are.
A great big thank you to the In Accord Singers for joining us and adding something very special to the last 4 numbers. Please take some time to see them here: http://www.inaccordsingers.co.uk
Next gig is at the Alresford Music Festival on 10th June at 12:30. We hope to see many of you there. We are in the beer tent and it is officially after lunch, so why not come on down and join us (for a beer or 2).
On April 1st 2017 we played for over 2 hours at the Cricketers 1st Birthday in New Alresford. In our usual style the blue grass warm up turned into Rock mayhem with our favourite numbers like:
- Rock n Roll – Led Zepplin
- I predict a riot – Kaiser Chiefs
- I want you so hard – Eagles of Death Metal
and we also debuted a few new numbers including
- Sex (sax – child friendly version) is on fire – Kings of Leon
- Suffragette City – David Bowie
Reviews were great and we had a great time. Looking forward to the next time we see you all at The Watercress Festival and Alresford Music Festival. See our gig list for more details.

So far, we have been busily preparing a range of new material which builds on our high energy approach to ukulele and also added in percussion (played on the Cajon), making us louder and more excitable than ever.
As we love pubs so much (and know that you do), both the Tichborne Arms and The Horse & Groom have booked us to entertain all you locals so make your way to one of those and catch up on some of our latest new songs.
We are also very excited to confirm that we will be playing at the Alresford Watercress Festival and the Alresford Music Festival. Both are great days out so we hope to see you there rocking out to our jam.
Vote Now for AUJ to win an Award
We are delighted to have been nominated for an award. Our mix of Rock, Pop and our very own mashups has led to the growth of our fantastic fan base.
As a community jam we play local gigs to raise money for charities, and recently gave £1000 to the local infant school to teach the kids the magic of Uke. This is why our fans love us and we hope you will also support us.
